Farewell Mayor Thomas M. Menino

The Cambridge College family is deeply saddened by the passing of one of Boston’s greatest leaders, the Honorable Mayor Thomas M. Menino.  As we bid farewell today to a remarkable leader, we also celebrate his distinguished 20-year career as the longest serving mayor in Boston’s history.   We are proud to have presented Mayor Menino with an honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters in June, 2013 in recognition of the extraordinary contributions he made to enhancing social justice, equality and access for people throughout Boston’s diverse communities.

Mayor Menino’s warm spirit, compassion, and exceptional leadership will be sorely missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with Mrs. Menino and her entire family.  We pray that they will find strength and joy in the memories of the countless contributions Mayor Menino made to so many families in the City of Boston. We thank you for sharing his life with all of us.  Mayor Menino, may you rest in peace knowing that your legacy lives on in the heart of this great City.

Sincerely,

Deborah C. Jackson
