Background
David L. Flynn Ph.D. is a Massachusetts educator who has served in both the public and private sectors of the profession. He began his career as an English teacher at both the high school and middle school levels and moved on to administrative positions, working as a high school principal in two communities. He also served as a school superintendent in Marlborough, MA for thirteen years.
He was subsequently employed by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges as the Director of the Commission on Public Elementary and Middle Schools. In this position, he worked with over 300 schools throughout the six New England states and twenty-six different countries. He traveled extensively across the globe presenting and leading discussions centered on school evaluation and accreditation.
His current professional interests are primarily focused on the provision of practical preparation programs for those who seek to become principals of PK-12 schools. A secondary interest is how schools and faculties evaluate themselves in light of their standards and mission.
He has been a member of the Educational Leadership community at Cambridge College since 1998.
